In order for a company to pass ISO 50001 certification, it must first implement the energy management system and actively use it.
Subsequently, the certification body receives the request of the company and conducts the inspection in two phases. The first phase is the preliminary inspection. Energy policy, business processes, implementation guidelines and other issues are discussed. Attempts are made to remove system inconsistencies. In the second phase, on-site control is performed. Checks are made at all levels of the business, such as the firm’s commitment to the system and whether the standard is applied correctly.
If the company successfully completes these phases, the ISO 50001 energy management system certificate is issued and delivered to the company.
